A Conversation with Acting Executive County Superintendent, Carole Knopp Morris
Board Members

Superintendents

Board Secretaries

The officers of the Monmouth County School Boards Association invite you to a special event!

The Executive County Superintendent positions were created through one of the key property tax reform measures enacted during the Special Session on Property Tax Reform this past year.  Carole Morris has been named Acting Executive County Superintendent for Monmouth County pending approval by the Senate, and we are pleased to offer this program to allow board members, Superintendents and Business Administrators the opportunity to learn about the new authority that Mrs. Morris will have in this position and how those responsibilities may affect your district.

The role of the expanded county superintendent includes the ability to examine administrative and operational efficiencies and cost savings within the school districts of the counties represented.  They will monitor performance in the five key components of school district effectiveness under the NJQSAC, and they will have the authority to disapprove portions of a school district’s budget if a district has not implemented all potential administrative efficiencies.   Additionally, the Executive County Superintendent will work with school districts to control costs by developing in-district special education programs and services and shared special education services within the county.

Please join us in this informal presentation to hear Mrs. Morris’s perspective on the educational challenges ahead, and to ask your questions as you move toward developing next year’s budget and completing QSAC monitoring.

PLEASE POLL YOUR BOARD and submit the registration form no later than Friday, February 1, 2008.
