It's been a busy summer in Ocean County as school boards around the county took the time to set district, board and superintendent goals for the 2003-04 school year. Goal setting workshops/retreats were held with Barnegat, Island Heights, Jackson, Lakehurst, and Ocean Township. There is still time to hold your board goal setting workshop and get your year off to a great start! Have you scheduled your workshop yet?

Mark your calendars! The Ocean County School Boards Association held their planning meeting and the fall events include a No Child Left Behind Update on October 14th and a Creative Funding Roundtable on December 3rd. Keep an eye out for the upcoming reservation forms.

Once again, we are in for an outstanding Annual Workshop in Atlantic City from October 22-24th. I hope to see you all there! Be sure to attend the county luncheon for good food and great networking. Stop by the County Association booth to say hi and get a cup of coffee and dessert baked by students of the vocational technical schools.
