Assistant Superintendents

Board Administrators

Featured Speaker:
Christina Steffner, Principal at Hunterdon Central Regional High School, Flemington

Implementing a random student drug testing program and policy can be a daunting task. How do you combat potential negative reactions and concerns of privacy issues while building a consensus to bring testing to your schools? Base your decision to add a random student drug-testing program on factual and accurate information.

This training session will provide information on background research; testing protocols; development and implementation of random drug testing programs; policy development; and rights and responsibilities. Learn the pros and cons of random drug testing and how these opportunities may work in your school district.

About the Speaker
Christina, a pre-eminent leader in random drug testing, developed and implemented the random student drug testing program in Hackettstown, recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Office of National Drug Control Policy of the White House as a model for other programs. She has also worked with schools throughout NJ; presented for the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy in 16 states; and has served as Guest Presenter at many national and international summits. She notes “Deciding to randomly drug test is not about how bad your drug problem is, but about how much you are willing to do to keep your students off or drugs."
