Join NJSBA and Greg Somjen of Parette Somjen Architects for a discussion about how schools can use the space in their building differently. Schools have come a long way since the one room school house and economic challenges facing districts today require them to reconsider how they use the space they have.

Watch Erik Endress, NJSBA's Social & Interactive Media Specialist in this recording from the NJASA/NJSBA Spring Conference where he will be talking about how your district can utilize technology to engage your community. Tools, techniques, platforms and trends are all on the agenda for this fast-paced discussion.

Across New Jersey, schools are focused on 21st Century Learning and integrating technology in the classroom. At the same time, school boards and administrators are exploring how they can use technology, the web and social media to engage both students and their communities. New Milford High School Principal Eric Sheninger, considered to be one of the most innovative principals in the country, will be joined by several of his teachers, students, board trustees and members of his community to discuss how New Milford High School uses technology as a student and community engagement tool. In addition to discussing the technology that students are using in his school, Sheninger will talk about how he uses social media as a community engagement tool. With more than 10,000 Twitter followers, Sheninger can provide school board members and administrators with valuable insight on how they can do what he is doing.

Watch NJSBA, NSBA and members of the Pascack Valley Regional School District as they discuss how they transformed teaching and learning through its 1:1 Laptop eLearning Initiative. During this live event, you'll hear from the people who made it happen and learn what you need to know before launching such a program in your district. They talk about the technology, professional development and teaching techniques that are needed to build and maintain a successful program such as theirs. Erik Endress, Director of Association and Business Development with New Jersey School Boards Association and Ann Flynn, Director, Education Technology and State Association Services for the National School Boards Association will be joined by Erik Gundersen, District Director of Curriculum/Instruction/Assessment and Erich Tusch, District Supervisor of Technology.

Watch the recording of this event NJSBA produced just days after the April 27th school elections to learn what your Board needs to do to re-organize. What does the law say? What needs to take place and when? Michael Kaelber and Donna Kaye of NJSBA's Legal & Policy Services Department, John Burns from NJSBA's Governmental Relations Department and Terri Lewis of NJSBA's Filed Services team will help you know what you need to know and answer your questions!

NJSBA sits down live at The Science Leadership Academy (SLA), a magnet public high school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which opened in September 2006. SLA is a partnership between The Franklin Institute and the School District of Philadelphia. SLA is a 1:1 project-based laptop school where all students and teachers use Macintosh laptops as their primary learning tool. You'll learn how teachers use technology and other techniques to engage students and teach differently.

Watch this recorded webcast from the Willow School in Gladstone, NJ. Situated in the beautiful New Jersey countryside on a spectacular 34-acre forested site, the school fully embraces its surroundings and makes them integral to all aspects of the curriculum. The school buildings incorporate many environmentally sensitive design features, allowing the school to seek a high level of certification from the United States Green Building Council in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program. During this event, Mark Biedron will discuss Willow School children will learn about sustaining healthy surroundings through the protection of air and water, and the preservation and conservation of natural resources. You'll learn what your district can do to be more sustainable and how to integrate these concepts into your curriculum.
