NJSBA Plans Programs on New Tenure Law

Updated Sept. 6 with new location for Bergen-Passaic meeting

On Aug. 6, Gov. Chris Christie signed into law the TEACH-NJ Act, which contains the most significant changes to teacher tenure in a century.

Meanwhile, the Excellent Educators for New Jersey (EE4NJ) program, which is developing the state's new teacher evaluation process – a core component of the tenure-reform law – will require school districts to meet numerous deadlines and implement certain changes in the 2012-2013 school year.

The new tenure-reform law will be addressed in regional information sessions offered in September at county school board association meetings.  Join NJSBA staff experts and local EE4NJ pilot school representatives to discuss what these changes mean to your district.

All programs begin at 6:30 with a light dinner and networking. The program dates include:

Sept. 11 – Burlington County School Boards Associations (SBA); Pemberton school district's Early Childhood Learning Center. Registration  is available.

Sept. 13 – Bergen County and Passaic County SBA; Bleshman Regional Day School. Registration is available.

Sept. 13 – Salem County SBA;Salem County Vocational Technical School . Registration is available.

There is no fee for the programs. However, attendees are asked to pre-register.
