NJSBA strongly advises that school business administrators register their members for the annual Workshop training conference by Oct. 10 to avoid lines and delays. The badges for attendees registered by Oct. 10 will be mailed out to the school business administrator, along with a confirmation letter. After Oct. 10, Workshop registration will still be accepted, but attendees will be required to go to onsite registration on the second floor of the Atlantic City Convention Center, inside Hall D, to have their badges printed.
About the Conference Workshop 2012, to be held Oct. 23-25 in the Atlantic City Convention Center, will offer more than 150 learning opportunities, including returning favorites like Learning Labs, Action Labs and Group Sessions, as well as new features and innovative programming. Training will include methods to help schools effectively utilize limited resources, ways school districts can become environmentally and financially sustainable, and strategies on becoming effective school leaders.
Programs will span a wide range of topics, including education reform, alternative funding sources, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) education, labor relations, advocacy and governmental relations, charter schools, curriculum, sustainability, and more.
Workshop Registration Online registration for Workshop 2012 is now open, but must be handled by the district's business administrator. School business administrators registering their districts should watch the following short video for registration instructions.
Increased Group Size This year, NJSBA has expanded the number of individuals covered by the group rate to 14 team members, which may include school board members, the business administrator, superintendent, facilities manager, curriculum coordinator and technology director.
Price The cost of Workshop group registration for boards of education is $900. Individual registration is $150. Business administrators wishing to register their districts should have a scanned purchase order ready to attach to the registration.
More Information School officials should ask their school business administrator to register their districts for Workshop 2012 as soon as possible. Information on registration, housing, event schedules and programming can be found on the Workshop website.
