Voters to Decide $212 Million in School Construction on April 21
TRENTON, April 14, 2009—Voters in 19 school districts will decide school-construction proposals totaling more than $212.5 million on April 21, according to the New Jersey School Boards Association.
April 21 is the Annual School Election, the date when voters in 90 percent of New Jersey school districts elect school board members and vote on their districts’ annual budgets. The Annual School Election is also one of five dates a year on which school boards can propose referendum questions on construction projects. The remaining dates for school bond elections this year are Sept. 29 and Dec. 8.
Of the total amount of construction proposals on the April 21 ballot, $67.5 million would be eligible for state reimbursement.
Based on ballot questions supplied by the state’s county boards of elections, the April 21 construction proposals are as follows:
