ACES to Offer Natural Gas Aggregation Services

As the result of Hurricane Katrina, already-high natural gas prices have spiked. ACES—the energy purchasing program of the New Jersey School Boards Association, the New Jersey Association of School Administrators and the New Jersey Association of School Businesses Officials—is now offering school districts an opportunity to become part of a massive purchasing power for natural gas beginning next spring. Cost increases show no signs of relief. The time to take action to control future costs is now.

Since this is a new ACES service, school districts will need board approval to take part in the ACES natural gas aggregation program. ACES will provide boards with a draft resolution and other sign-up documents by the end of September. Plan to place this matter on your board agenda in October.
