Volunteers Needed for NJSBA Legislative Committee

Do you want to help advance NJSBA’s advocacy action plan? If so, there are several openings on NJSBA’s Legislative Committee for board members who wish to volunteer their time to communicate with state and federal lawmakers about issues critical to New Jersey’s school districts.

The committee meets approximately six times a year to review and adopt positions on state legislative proposals that affect boards of education. The committee is also responsible for promoting grassroots advocacy networks. Committee members are an important part of these networks and are often called upon to testify at hearings before the Legislature and the state Board of Education.

NJSBA needs your support more than ever as it tackles tough issues like school regionalization, property tax reform, administrative cost caps, and unfunded mandates.

If you are interested in serving on this committee, contact Katy Hague, Administrative Assistant of Governmental Relations, at 1-888-886-5722, extension 5215. The positions available are shown in the box below.
