Assembly Speaker Joseph Roberts recently named Oadline Truitt (D-28) to the Assembly Education Committee. Truitt had been appointed to the Assembly earlier this year to replace the late Assemblyman Donald Tucker. She has more than 20 years experience as a school librarian/media specialist in the Irvington Public Schools.

The Assembly Education committee oversees legislative initiatives in curriculum, school finance, and transportation. The roster for the 2006–07 Assembly Education Committee includes Craig Stanley (D-28), Joan Voss (D-38), Patrick Diegnan, Jr. (D-18), David Mayer (D-4), Nelida Pou (D-35), Oadline Truitt (D-28), Joseph Vas (D-19), Bill Baroni (R-14), Joseph Malone III (R-30), and David Wolfe (R-10).
