NJSBA Annual Legislative Conference: March 6, 2006

Over 140 school board members, superintendents and other school officials had an opportunity to hear Governor Jon Corzine at the NJSBA Legislative Conference last week in Trenton. After the presentations, they met with legislators in 50 small-group meetings to talk about educational issues and their concerns. They also took part in training on subjects critical to school boards.

The participants explored a range of subjects, including state aid to education, the state budget deficit, reform of the State Health Benefits Program, development of a new school funding formula, property tax reform, and school construction funding.
