Of the 1.6 million Jewish children who lived in Europe before World War II, only 100,000 survived the Holocaust. One of them is New Jersey State Board of Education member Maud Dahme who, like other survivors, was hidden awayin attics, cellars, convents or farms.
Dahme was one of 3,000 to 8,000 Jewish children in the Netherlands saved from the Nazi death camps by brave Christians. The Hidden Child, a one-hour documentary based on her story, will air on Tuesday, April 25 at 10 p.m. and on Sunday, April 30 at 4 p.m. over New Jersey Network television.
