Housing Changes for Overnight Conferences

Prompted by the state’s travel regulations, NJSBA’s registration fee for programs will now only cover the cost for the conference programming, materials and meals, beginning with its Leadership Conference in March. Overnight accommodations will not be factored into conference costs, and room reservations must be made independently.

As a service to its members, NJSBA has made arrangements with conference hotels to hold blocks of rooms at special rates until approximately three weeks prior to events.

Leadership Conference For the upcoming Leadership Conference, March 9-10, the Marriott Princeton Hotel and Conference Center will provide a conference rate of $119, and will hold the block until Feb. 12. To reserve a room, follow these procedures:

  • A district business administrator must call the hotel at (609) 452-7800 to make reservations on behalf of a board member. A reservation may be guaranteed by district purchase order. The purchase order may be faxed and must include the attendee’s name, dates of stay, conference title and the district’s tax exemption certificate.

  • At check-in, attendees must provide the following: A copy of purchase order containing the attendee’s name, dates of stay, conference title; a district check for the full amount; and a copy of the district’s tax exemption certificate.

NJSBA encourages participants to stay at conference properties. However, several hotels and motels that are within a 5-mile radius might offer more competitive rates.

District business administrators will receive an update on housing rates prior to the Orientation Conferences at the Harrison Conference Center in Princeton in June, July and September.
