March 23: Final Deadline for 2007 Program Proposals

NJSBA will extend the deadline for Workshop 2007 Action Lab and Group Session proposals to Friday, March 23. The extension resulted from district closings due to inclement weather, as well as from numerous member requests.

Action Labs and Group Session are well attended and offer districts an opportunity to highlight exemplary programs and services, while sharing their expertise with colleagues throughout the state.

Action Labs engage participants in the application of specific skills. They are 90 minutes long, and the majority of time must be devoted to hands-on tasks. Action labs have attendance limits of 24 to 48 participants, with the exact cut-off determined by the presenters.

Group Sessions present information on education philosophies, best practices and contrasting viewpoints. At least one-third of the 90-minute sessions are devoted to questions and answers. Presenters may choose their program format, for example, single speaker, panel, debate, or other structure. Group Sessions can accommodate up to 300 people.

For details and a copy of the proposal form, follow the link under “What’s New” at www.njsba.org. For further information, or to have a form e-mailed to you, contact Mark A. Bonjavanni at (888) 886-5722, ext. 5207
