Labor Relations Consultant Retires

Esther Strassman, a senior consultant in NJSBA’s Labor Relations Department, retired from NJSBA earlier this month after more than 25 years of service.

Strassman began working for the Association as a labor relations analyst in 1981. She has had primary responsibility for NJSBA’s popular Advanced Bargaining program, which has taught board members and administrators how to successfully negotiate fair and responsible contracts for the last 20 years.

Prior to joining the NJSBA staff, Strassman served as a member of the Flemington-Raritan Regional Board of Education.

“Esther has made a significant contribution to NJSBA and its labor relations services,” said Edwina M. Lee, executive director. “During her more than two decades of service, members and staff have relied on her expertise and in-depth knowledge.”

“Esther has unparalleled knowledge of case law and Public Employment Relations Commission law,” said Curt Wary, labor relations director. “She will be sorely missed.”
