Edithe Fulton, former NJEA president, and Kenneth Parker, a utility company executive, were sworn in as State Board of Education members on April 4. They were appointed by Gov. Jon S. Corzine.
Fulton is a longtime public school educator from Ocean County. She currently sits on the boards of directors for New Jersey Reads, Literacy Volunteers of Ocean County, and Executive Women of New Jersey.
Parker is president of the Atlantic City Electric region of Connectiv and is a resident of Camden County. He holds a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Delaware State University and sits on the boards of the New Jersey State Chamber of Commerce, South Jersey Chamber Foundation, Special Olympics of New Jersey, and the Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey.
Their terms expire in 2012.
