A Board Member's Summer Checklist

Summer is the time to kick back and take a break from the hustle and bustle of the school year. However, school district business still needs to get done.

NJSBA’s 2007-2008 Board Member Reminder, published this month, includes “seasonal checklists,” which group important board decisions into three-month periods.

For summer, the quick list will help make board member vacations a bit more relaxing and their September an easier transition into the next school year.

June-July-August

	Notification of superintendent renewal
	End of year report on district goals
	Formalize superintendent goals
	Formalize board goals
	Review action plans for district goals
	Approve staff transfers
	Approve staff hires
