Search Committee Getting Closer to
New Executive Director

NJSBA’s Executive Director Search Committee has been interviewing candidates for the Association’s top staff position throughout August. The search committee expects to recommend a candidate to the Board of Directors by Sept. 14.

The new executive director will succeed Edwina M. Lee, who is retiring at the end of October after 20 years with NJSBA. Lee announced her retirement in March.

The Executive Director Search Committee comprises NJSBA’s Officers, as well as six Board of Directors members selected to ensure regional and demographic balance.

Committee Members In addition to NJSBA President Kevin E. Ciak, who serves as chairman, committee members include: Rosemarie A. Aloia, Garfield Board of Education; Deborah Bridges, Rahway; NJSBA Vice President for Finance John Bulina, Tabernacle Township; Vice President for County Activities Harry J. Delgado, South Brunswick; and Alfred C. Fisher, Camden County Vocational-Technical. Other members include Laurie Markowski, Flemington-Raritan Regional; Joseph Moritz, Hopewell Township, Cumberland County; Vice President for Legislation and Resolutions Eva M. Nagy, Franklin Township, Somerset County; Immediate Past President Patti J. Pawling, Barrington; and Patricia Snyder, Pittsgrove.

J. Curtis Rose, the assistant executive director for School Board and Management Services at the Pennsylvania School Boards Association, is serving as facilitator.
