Workshop to Feature Legislative and
State Board Sessions

This year’s State Legislative Update at Workshop will feature a panel of four legislators, all of whom have had extensive experience on the Senate and Assembly education committees.

Senators Joseph Doria and Joseph Palaia and Assembly Representatives Craig Stanley and Joan Voss are expected to candidly discuss school funding, consolidation and other issues that will come up during the lame-duck session and after the new Legislature convenes in January. The panel discussion will run from 2:45-4:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24 in Room 303 of the Atlantic City Convention Center.

In addition, members of the State Board of Education—education’s other policymakers—will meet from 2:30-4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, also in Room 303. The state board will discuss what’s in store in areas such as the new monitoring system, special education, school finance and operations.
