Position Available: Lobbyist

NJSBA seeks a lobbyist to represent educational interests at all levels of state government.

Responsibilities include preparing analyses of NJSBA positions concerning legislation; providing member training, research and draft testimony; coordinating and attending legislative meetings at all levels. Qualifications include experience working with the New Jersey Legislature and familiarity with the legislative process. Must speak and write clearly and persuasively, and possess the ability to articulate and debate views at initial presentations. Familiarity with school board operations is preferred, as well as the ability to develop public policy agenda. Minimum education required is a BA/BS or equivalent work experience and two years’ legislative or related experience. Must work evenings and weekends; statewide travel required.

Minimum salary is $68,086 and includes medical/dental, retirement, disability and sick leave benefits.
