Turner, Cryan to Chair Key Education Committees

State Sen. Shirley K. Turner (D-15) of Mercer County and Assemblyman Joseph Cryan (D-20) of Union County will chair the Senate and Assembly Education Committees during the state Legislature’s 213th Session. Turner is returning to her role as Senate chair, while Cryan replaces Craig Stanley, who did not seek reelection to the Assembly.

In addition to Turner, Senate Education Committee members include Senators Teresa M. Ruiz (D-29), vice-chair; Diane B. Allen (R-7); Christopher Bateman (R-16); and Jim Whalen (D-2).

On the Assembly Education Committee, Cryan is joined by Assembly representatives Joan M. Voss (D-38), vice-chair; Patrick J. Diegnan (D-18); Amy H. Handlin (R-13); Mila M. Jasey (D-27); Joseph R. Malone (R-30); Paul D. Moriarty (D-4); Nellie Pou (D-35); Ruben J. Ramos (D-33); Scott T. Rumana (R-40); Joseph Vas (D-19); and David W. Wolfe (R-10).
