Budget Training for the Media

NJSBA coordinated an information session for reporters, called “Covering School Budgets 2008,” Feb. 29 in Robbinsville. The program was designed to help reporters learn the basics of school budgeting, gain an understanding of education requirements, and discuss state-level funding issues. Representatives of nine newspapers attended the program.

Presenters at the program, from left to right, were Bruce Quinn, assistant executive director of the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials; Robert L. Copeland, superintendent of the Piscataway School District; Teresa Rafferty, director of community education and outreach for Piscataway schools; and Mike Vrancik, director of governmental relations for the New Jersey School Boards Association.
