Thomas Edison once said that, “Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.”
When it comes to special education, the work is already being done by New Jersey schools—and NJSBA and the Association of Schools and Agencies for the Handicapped are providing school districts with an opportunity to be recognized for the effort.
NJSBA has extended the deadline for submitting entries for the annual Innovations in Special Education Awards to March 21. This is an opportunity for schools to showcase programs that promote the education of students with special needs.
NJSBA has posted an entry form on its Web site.
A select number of programs will be recognized at a reception and ceremony in conjunction with Special Education Week in New Jersey in May. Award recipients will also be featured in NJSBA’s School Leader magazine and ASAH publications. |
