NJSBA Extends Condolences to Bilik Family

Paul Bilik, the husband of New Jersey School Boards Association Executive Director Marie Bilik, died Monday, March 31.

Mr. Bilik, 64, was a former member of the Green Township Board of Education in Sussex County, serving for six years. He had also been a member of the township planning board. He was employed by the New Jersey State Department of Education.

In an interview with School Leader magazine, published in September shortly after her appointment as NJSBA executive director, Marie Bilik noted that community service ran in the family and pointed to Paul’s efforts on the local board.

“Our thoughts are with Marie at this difficult time,” said NJSBA President Kevin E. Ciak. “The Officers and staff extend our sincerest condolences to the Bilik family.”

Paul and Marie have five children and eight grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 3 from 2-4 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m. at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton. Funeral services will begin at 9 a.m. Friday, April 4, at the funeral home, with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at Good Shepherd Church, 48 Tranquility Road (Route 517), Andover Borough. Burial will be at Good Shepherd Cemetery in Green Township.
