School Leader Features Section
for New Board Members

Newly elected school board members are probably feeling exhilarated—and perhaps somewhat overwhelmed. The new issue of School Leader magazine features a special section, “Welcome New Board Members,” designed to provide wisdom from experienced board members.

The May/June issue also features an article on the strengths of K-8 schools, an update on what’s new in school security, and policy advice on whether districts should allow local kids who aren’t enrolled in the local schools to participate in extracurricular activities.

School Leader is mailed to all board members six times a year. Select articles are also posted on the School Leader section of NJSBA's Web site.
