Building the Future, One Student at a Time

Scenes from this month’s Celebration of Special Education Week (May 11-17).

A student scales a climbing wall at The Midland School in North Branch. The school was the site of the annual Special Education Week celebration on May 16.

Special education students enjoyed arcade-style games, an inflatable slide and moon bounce. Thirteen schools were also honored for receiving Innovations in Special Education awards.

Students talk with Patricia Snyder, a member of NJSBA’s Board of Directors and a board member from the Pittsgrove School District.  Some 1,000 special-education students from around the state attended the annual Special Education Week celebration. The event included games and face-painting.
