Accountability Regulations Enacted
On July 1, the Commissioner of Education filed the emergency accountability regulations with the Office of Administrative Law, and those regulations were quietly posted on the Department of Education’s Web site the next day.
Budget, Education Bills Become Law
It’s official: Gov. Jon Corzine has signed into law the $32.86 billion state budget for 2008-2009, an amount that is $600 million less than the budget adopted last year.

New School Construction Bill Becomes Law
On the day before the state Legislature adjourned for summer break, it passed A-2873, which authorized the Schools Development Authority (SDA) to borrow $3.9 billion for school construction projects in the state. 

Conference Slated on School Funding Formula
A conference, “Understanding and Implementing the New Jersey School Funding Formula,” will be held Friday, Sept. 19 at Middlesex County Community College in Edison.
