Position Available: Policy Consultant

NJSBA is looking for a dynamic individual to join the team as a Policy Consultant. The consultant is an invaluable resource to boards of education. The position involves research of educational policy topics to assist school boards in district governance, identification of emerging policy issues, and preparation of oral presentations, articles and other written guidance for local boards. The successful candidate will consult with district representatives to identify policy concerns, write customized policy manuals, and provide on-site help to districts with policy related problems.

Must be proficient in analysis and interpretation of education statutes, administrative code and case law, and have demonstrated ability to translate legal requirements into model policy language. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience, experience in public education or related field. Excellent M/S Word skills are required. Evening and weekend work required.

Minimum salary is $53,523 and includes medical/dental, retirement, disability and sick leave benefits.

NJSBA, a federation of the state’s local boards of education, advocates the interests of school districts, trains local school board members and provides resources for the advancement of public education.
