Accountability Regs:
Survey Measures Financial Impact –
Web Extra

To identify changes needed in the state’s Accountability Regulations (“Fiscal Accountability, Efficiency and Budgeting Procedures,” N.J.A.C. 6A:23A), NJSBA and the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials issued an electronic survey to school business administrators on April 8.  The survey asks respondents about the financial and administrative impact of various provisions of the regulations, which were implemented last year.

The state Department of Education is expected to the re-adoption process for the Accountability Regulations, which expire June 30, 2009.  As part of the procedure, the commissioner of education will conduct regional hearings on the regulations.

Local school officials’ responses to the survey will provide critical information that will assist NJSBA and NJASBO in addressing the Accountability Regulations with state education officials.

To obtain a link to the Web-based survey, contact Frank Belluscio, NJSBA director of communications, at fbelluscio@njsba.org or 1-888-886-5722, Ext. 5209.
