	Pension Reform Bills Introduced in Senate New Jersey lawmakers on Tuesday introduced pension reform legislation that would affect the pensions and benefits of all public workers, including school district employees.

	Web Extra Bill Would Remove Accused School Board Members Legislation introduced this week would allow for the immediate removal of a school board member charged with a crime of the first, second or third degree that involves a minor.

	Senate Committee Moves Substitute Teacher Bill The Senate Education Committee on Monday approved a bill that would limit the amount of time that substitutes may serve in the classroom in any one district.

	Student Diabetes Law Takes Effect A law requiring public schools to take measures in ensuring the management of students with diabetes within the school went into effect on Jan. 29.

	Larkins Named SDA Chief Gov. Chris Christie announced the nomination of Marc Larkins as executive director of the New Jersey Schools Development Authority on Jan. 27.

	Administration Calls for Increase in School Spending, NCLB Changes The National School Boards Association is supporting the provision in the fiscal 2011 federal education budget that would increase discretionary funding by 7.5 percent, or $3.5 billion. A ‘Day on the Hill’ School board members from New Jersey met with U.S. Rep. Rob Andrews during the Federal Relations Network’s “Day on the Hill."
