Assembly Panel OKs Model Superintendent Contracts, Other Bills
The Assembly Education Committee released bills dealing with a statewide model superintendent contract; ads on school buses; dating violence; solar panels; and steroid use.

A commissioner ruling found that a school board’s policy reached too far when it barred students from sports and clubs if they were caught engaging in certain off-campus behavior.

The state Department of Education has released the individual school district allocations for New Jersey’s $268 million share of the federal Education Jobs Fund. Part of the federal stimulus package, the program is designed to save or create education positions.
