Robert Gilmartin (left), Passaic County’s executive county superintendent, speaks at the Sept. 12 meeting of the Passaic County School Boards Association at the Pompton Lakes High School. Gilmartin gave an update from the New Jersey Department of Education, and spoke about local school officials’ efforts to rebound from the flooding due to recent storms, including Hurricane Irene in late August. Paul Amoroso, superintendent for the Pompton Lakes School District, welcomed the attendees, and NJSBA field service representative Paul Breda spoke about common characteristics of high-performing school boards. |
