In accordance with the Open Public Meetings Act, notice is hereby provided of a meeting of the New Jersey School Boards Association Resolutions Subcommittee. The meeting will be held on Oct. 1, immediately following the Legislative Committee meeting at NJSBA headquarters, 413 W. State St., Trenton.
The meeting is open to the public.
The agenda, to the extent known at this time, will include review and action on one resolution which will come before the Semiannual Delegate Assembly on Nov. 19, 2011. The resolution that will be considered by the subcommittee, including the sponsor and the topic, will be:
City of Burlington Board of Education (Burlington County) The resolution requests that NJSBA policy be revised to include limitation of the criminal background history check in regards to a specific length of time for an individual’s background and consideration of the nature of the crime committed.
Also included on the agenda will be the sunset review of the NJSBA Positions and Policies Manual, Sections 3000 (Business and Noninstructional Operations) and 4000 (Instructional and Support Personnel) for review and action prior to the Delegate Assembly.
Notice is also provided that the Emergency Resolutions Subcommittee may be required to meet on Nov. 14 via teleconference if any resolutions are received by the Association to be considered as emergency resolutions for the Delegate Assembly agenda.
