Congressman Rush Holt, Jr., 12th Legislative District

Representative Rush Holt, a member of the Education and Workforce Committee, will hold a candid discussion on federal issues pertaining to education.

A member of the House education and labor committee since 1999, Rep. Holt has worked to craft education policies to improve early childhood education, invest in teacher training, set academic standards for students, and help make college more affordable. He is a senior member of the committee, which is expected to take on the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act.

Topics will include the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, education reform, federal funding, nutrition standards, and more. The informal session is an opportunity to listen, learn and discuss issues pertaining to federal education issues, proposed changes, and ideas on becoming involved in the discussion in Washington, D.C.

This meeting is hosted by the Middlesex County School Boards Association. Light refreshments will be served.
