| Analyzing and Constructing Salary Guides To equip board members and administrators with the necessary skills to address their salary guide concerns, NJSBA will be conducting its annual training program, Analyzing and Constructing Salary Guides, on February 21 and 22. Participants will be guided step-by-step through the process of guide analysis and construction. Techniques for addressing salary guide distortions, such as balloons, will be covered in detail. January 14 Governors Action
Electronic Bid Proposals S-2193 (Palaia/Wolfe), which revises the school bond law to simplify refunding bonds and to permit electronic bid proposals, was signed into law (P.L. 2003, c.264). NJSBA supported the bill, which takes effect immediately. Get the full story.

| NJSBA Resolutions Cutoff Notice |
All resolutions submitted for NJSBAs Annual Delegate Assembly on May 15 must be received at the Associations Trenton office by 5 p.m. on March 1. The second notice regarding the cutoff date was e-mailed and faxed to school business administrators, county association presidents and board presidents on January 21. Also included in the mailing were the rules for appearing before the Resolutions Subcommittee, which will meet on March 20 to consider the resolutions submitted for the Delegate Assembly agenda.

We encourage school districts to submit proposals for a group session or action lab for this years Workshop, which will be held on October 20-22 in Atlantic City.
