| Delegate Assembly Resolutions Cutoff Notice |
The next NJSBA Delegate Assembly meeting to consider resolutions will be held on November 20. The cutoff date for submission of resolutions to this meeting is September 7. Resolutions must be received by the close of business on that date.
On June 8, the Association submitted a notice about the resolutions cutoff date to school business administrators, board presidents and county association presidents. This mailing also included the resolutions format. The format calls for each resolution submitted by an authorized body to recommend specific policy language in a broad belief statement for adoption by the Delegate Assembly and inclusion in NJSBAs Manual of Positions and Policies on Education.
Recommended policy language may be submitted as an NJSBA belief statement only, NJSBA support for a belief only, or both, depending on the nature of the issue and/or the existence of related NJSBA policy. Example policy proposals were attached to the resolutions format. A final resolved clause should request that the resolution be placed on the agenda for consideration at the November 20 Delegate Assembly.
Resolutions submitted for the Delegate Assembly must be mailed to: Resolutions, November 2004 Delegate Assembly, C/O Edwina M. Lee, Executive Director, New Jersey School Boards Association, 413 West State Street, P.O. Box 909, Trenton, NJ 08605-0909.
