The New York Times Learning Network and the National Public Radio
system have launched a civics education Web site for high school
students and teachers based on NPR’s radio program, Justice
Talking.
The new Web site, named
Justice
Learning, will use content from the radio program as well as
related lesson plans and articles from the New York Times Learning
Network.
Designed around eight distinct civics issues that are updated
twice a year, Justice Learning will provide students with an
in-depth look at the facts that define the issue, along with
differing points of view. Included are audio clips, links to NY
Times articles, opinions from representatives of the five
institutions of democracy (the courts, Congress, the presidency, the
press and the schools), interactive features, and standards-based
interdisciplinary lesson plans.

here to visit this innovative, issue-based approach for engaging
