Similar in content to the weekend program, the one-day orientation features a lecture format with a question and answer period. NJSBA staff will cover your roles and responsibilities regarding the Sunshine Law and the School Ethics Act, policy-making, finance and the budget development process, student achievement, labor relations, evaluating the chief school administrator, and legislative activity. Completion of this course satisfies the requirements of the School Ethics Act.

The New Jersey Quality Single Accountability Continuum (NJQSAC) assesses progress in the areas of academic achievement, board governance, district administration, finances and facilities. School board members in the second year of their first term in office must take this program to satisfy the requirement for mandatory training under the Accountability Act.
