Description: The importance of I-STEAM (Intergrative Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) education is undeniable. Providing I-STEAM education in a coordinated manner by integrating it throughout the academic program improves student achievement. It also opens the possibility for higher student interest and engagement through design, creativity and innovation when problem solving in the technical fields. At this meeting, districts will showcase current iSTEAM projects in a relaxed, hands-on setting that allows board members to interact with students. Additionally, Sergeant First Class Joshua Simpson, NJSBA's U.S. Army I-STEAM education specialist, will present a STEAM prototype; MakerSpace and discuss I-STEAM/U.S. Army initiatives. Students from the following districts will be presenting: the Robotics team from Wayne Hills High School; Makerspace by Wayne elementary students; Stream Tank projects by Franklin Boro (Sussex County), Wayne Township Public Schools - Elementary School Maker Space Activity Demonstration; Wayne Valley Vernier Probe Demonstration; and Wayne Hills Robotics Demonstration. Additionally, teachers from Woodland Park will discuss using Dash Robot with their 5tth and 6th graders.
