The January-February issue of School Leader magazine, the flagship publication of the New Jersey School Boards Association, explores the importance of critical thinking skills in a polarized society, interviews school leaders in states with legalized recreational marijuana, and profiles New Jersey’s Board Member of the Year, Sister Carol Adams of Salem City.
The magazine also contains a special section on Future Ready Schools, a feature about New Jersey’s 2018 Miliken Educator of the Year award winner, and a “Legally Speaking” column on permissible and impermissible volunteer activities by board members in schools.
Issued bi-monthly, School Leader focuses on trends and issues of interest to boards of education and their top administrators. It is sent to local school board members as a benefit of membership in NJSBA.
The New Jersey School Boards Association is a federation of the state’s local boards of education and includes the majority of New Jersey’s charter schools as associate members. NJSBA provides training, advocacy and support to advance public education and promote the achievement of all students through effective governance.
