In light of the governor’s extension of the public health emergency, NJSBA Executive Director Dr. Lawrence S. Feinsod on April 13 announced that the Association is canceling all scheduled in-person meetings and programs through Saturday, May 16.
On March 13, NJSBA had announced the cancellation of all in-person events through the end of April and indicated that the status of future meetings would be continually evaluated. That assessment will continue, Dr. Feinsod said.
The cancellation applies to all state and county association meetings. Previously, the NJSBA Board of Directors, meeting remotely, approved the rescheduling of the Delegate Assembly from May 16 to June 27. The Association is currently exploring methods to conduct a virtual Delegate Assembly on June 27, if conditions warrant.
To continue meeting our members’ training and information needs, NJSBA has established a weekly schedule of Facebook Live events, podcasts, webinars, and videos. In addition, the first virtual county association meeting was successfully held on Tuesday evening, April 7.
Our virtual programs provide training and information tailored to local school boards, as well as to administrative staff and teachers. They are broadcast live and are archived for later viewing. Information is available in NJSBA’s Virtual Program Guide.
In addition, NJSBA’s COVID-19 Resource Center provides the latest news, resources, and guidance related to the public health emergency.
