The National School Boards Association is asking local school boards to urge their U.S. Senators and House Representatives to support resources and guidance to enable schools to provide a reasonable level of continuity in special education services.
Congress is currently considering a fourth emergency supplemental appropriation, which NSBA believes should address two key areas:
- Targeted flexibility that school districts need for continuity of special education services, and
- Federal funding and resources to help provide services to students with disabilities during the pandemic and beyond.
Detailed information about the issue, provided by NSBA, along with a sample letter to U.S. Senators and Congressional Representatives, can be accessed online here.
