NJSBA appreciates the strong response of school board members and administrators to our survey on the reopening of schools.
The survey will inform the Association’s upcoming report on the challenges facing districts when schools reopen. The report will also offer school districts ideas, suggested actions and possible strategies, as well as any forthcoming guidance from the New Jersey Department of Education and other state agencies.
To be released in May, the NJSBA report will also place strong emphasis on published information and research.
“Our intention is to help local school districts meet the challenges of reopening schools after an extended closure,” explained Dr. Lawrence S. Feinsod, NJSBA executive director. “Before we issue the report, we believe it is critical to obtain the insight of school district leaders.”
New Jersey’s schools remain closed indefinitely under Executive Order 107. Gov. Phil Murphy has indicated that the order will remain in effect at least until May 15.
