The New Jersey School Boards Association’s and the New Jersey Association of School Administrators’ Online University Hub now offers a Culturally Responsive Education learning path. The path includes four two-hour courses that provide a foundational understanding of culturally responsive classroom practices and strategies for integration. The courses are designed to help educators strengthen their ability to support all learners.
The course subject matter expert is Samantha Fletcher, Ed.M., a Harvard educated expert and international speaker on diversity education and inclusion. With nearly 20 years of experience in journalism, research, education and DEI — including much of that time in educator and parent roles — Fletcher is eminently qualified to teach the course.
The new learning path for culturally responsive education is designed to prepare teachers to effectively implement the 2020 New Jersey Student Learning Standards and meet the expectations of the New Jersey Professional Standards for Teachers.
The hub is part of NJSBA’s state-approved cooperative pricing system. Participating school districts can save money and bypass the often-lengthy formal bidding process.
