Does your district have an outstanding program in place to aid the social-emotional health of children? When a crisis occurs, do you have a response team in place? The New Jersey School Boards Association would like to hear from you by April 17.
The NJSBA’s mental health task force is preparing a report – “Building a Foundation for Hope” — that will be distributed to school districts, educators, legislators and policymakers later this year. We are seeking to highlight exemplars in the field, and we would like to include some of your comments in our report. Please share best practices, and common concerns, so that others may benefit. Don’t forget to include contact information so that a task force member or NJSBA staff member can follow up.
“Providing for the mental and emotional health of our students is critical to school climate and safety,” said Dr. Lawrence S. Feinsod, NJSBA executive director. “That’s why NJSBA is undertaking a major study that will address best practices in school districts and the concerns of educational practitioners, as well as prominent research. The thoughts and ideas of New Jersey’s school leaders will be a very important component of this project.”
Access the survey here. Once it is completed, save your responses, attach the Word document to an email and send it to aguenther@njsba.org.
Please return the completed document no later than April 17, 2019. Thank you.
