Registration is now open for NJSBA’s Virtual Workshop 2020, taking place Oct. 20 – 22, 2020.
To help schools and districts meet the challenges of governing, managing, and operating in these unprecedented times, the New Jersey School Boards Association is hard at work designing a unique program of interactive training, information sessions, and resources.
The conference is co-sponsored by NJSBA, the New Jersey Association of School Administrators (NJASA), and the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials (NJASBO).
“In my 40-plus years in education, I’ve never missed annual Workshop,” said Dr. Lawrence S. Feinsod, NJSBA executive director. “The value of this premier professional development conference has always been unmatched. Today, the challenges presented to school leaders by the public health emergency make Workshop more critical than ever.
“We are investing the same level of creativity, energy and commitment in the design of Virtual Workshop 2020 as we do each year. The result will be a professional development experience that will benefit local school board members and administrators through the 2020-2021 school year and well into the future. I urge boards of education to register.”
NJSBA’s Virtual Workshop 2020 will offer multiple tracks of live and on-demand training sessions over three full days. Sessions will cover digital and distance learning, equity, special education, cybersecurity, cost-savings, school finance, shared services, leadership, social and emotional learning, sustainability, integrative STEAM (science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math) education, board governance, policy and more. It will also feature compelling keynote speakers, an interactive exhibit floor, and exciting special events.
School board members will be able to earn NJSBA Board Member Academy credits toward certifications. School business administrators can obtain Qualified Purchasing Agent (QPA) credits. And facilities managers will have opportunities to earn Certified Educational Facilities Managers (CEFM) credits.
School board members are encouraged to add NJSBA’s Virtual Workshop 2020 to their next board meeting agenda.
