NEW: NJSBA Comprehensive New Board Member Mandated Professional Learning Experience
For the first time, the comprehensive new board member program gives participants a unique opportunity to work in virtual small-group settings with experienced veteran board members. It will allow members the flexibility to read and work through materials at their own pace, but also attend live sessions with NJSBA staff and educational experts, as well as participate in a virtual community to exchange ideas, questions and facilitate discussions.
This program will take a deeper dive into the board member experience and includes more informational sessions than the other formats. NJSBA will host an eight-week Comprehensive New Board Member Mandated Professional Learning Course to offer board members an immersive virtual experience.
Live Virtual Training
Throughout the year, NJSBA staff will be presenting the information a new board member needs to perform their responsibilities effectively. The sessions will allow time for questions and answers. The virtual NBMO will be scheduled in three consecutive live sessions, each lasting approximately two hours. Members must attend all three sessions to fulfill the Governance I requirement and receive Board Member Academy credit.
