Given the extreme impact COVID-19 has had on the education community in New Jersey, the New Jersey School Boards Association has announced that the deadline for NJSBA’s Virtual Workshop 2020 program proposals has been extended to Monday, Aug. 17, 2020.
NJSBA’s Virtual Workshop 2020, taking place from Oct. 20 through Oct. 22, will feature three days of sessions running concurrently over multiple tracks, compelling keynote presentations, special events, and a live exhibit hall.
This year’s change to an online venue will require innovation and a shift in style and method of presentation. All sessions will be held on our online conference platform which will allow presenters to upload materials, chat with session attendees, and host an unlimited number of attendees in each session. All sessions will be recorded and accessible to conference registrants via the conference platform after the show.
To ensure that the style and format work for a virtual audience, it is vital to “see” presenters in action as part of the evaluation for acceptance. It is strongly encouraged that the program proposal includes a two- to five- minute video presenting a summary of program content. This video can be uploaded to Vimeo, YouTube, or any online video hosting site, with the URL shared on the completed Program Proposal Form.
Please note the following guidelines when shaping your proposal:
- Each session requires an individual proposal submission.
- All presenters must be listed. The number of presenters listed cannot exceed three.
- Presenter title format on the agenda will be Full Name, Title, Organization.
- If possible, include a two- to five-minute video of your presentation.
All program submissions will receive equal consideration. The deadline for receiving completed forms is Monday, Aug. 17 at 5 p.m. Those submitting proposals will be notified of the Association’s decision via email by late August.
NJSBA will assist approved program presenters over the upcoming months to ensure programs are prepared for the “virtual world,” and the Association will help you get comfortable with the virtual conference platform.
