On July 1, Gov. Phil Murphy signed into law A-4037 that requires an electronic process be made available for the collection of petition signatures and their submission for the duration of the COVID-19 public health emergency.

On July 15, the New Jersey Division of Elections posted single signature electronic candidate petitions for school board candidates on its website.  The forms posted include both individual and joint/bracket school board nominating petitions.  Information and petitions can be found here.

The Division of Elections advises candidates to contact the county clerk for details on submitting the petitions electronically.

The filing deadline for nominating petitions for school board candidates is Monday, July 27, 2020.
