New Jersey’s local school districts face extraordinary challenges this year. To help them meet those challenges, NJSBA is designing an extraordinary Virtual Workshop conference, to be held Oct. 20-22.

Board members, superintendents, business administrators and other educational leaders can learn more about governing, managing, and operating a school district in these unprecedented times at NJSBA’s Virtual Workshop 2020. The conference, which will include interactive training, information sessions, presentations and resources, is co-sponsored by NJSBA, the New Jersey Association of School Administrators (NJASA) and the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials (NJASBO).

“NJSBA is excited to introduce our Virtual Workshop,” said Dr. Lawrence S. Feinsod. “It will feature the same fantastic training that this conference always delivers, in a way that is safe and convenient for all attendees. Plus, the sessions will be available for attendees to view for a full year.”

Let’s collaborate! NJSBA’s Virtual Workshop 2020 will offer multiple tracks of live and on-demand training sessions over three full days. These sessions are specially designed for online learning to ensure maximum engagement of participants and the effective delivery of training and information.

Sessions will cover digital and distance learning, equity, special education, cybersecurity, cost savings strategies, school finance, shared services, leadership, social and emotional learning, sustainability, integrative STEAM (science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math) education, board governance, policy, and more. It will also feature compelling keynote speakers, an interactive exhibit floor, and exciting special events.

Access the conference for a full year.  The virtual conference platform, including all sessions and resources, will be available to registrants on-demand for a full year. If you miss a training session or need to explore resources and solutions on the interactive exhibit floor, you (and your registered district team) can log into the conference platform at any time.

Earn professional development credits. School board members will be able to earn NJSBA Board Member Academy credits toward certifications. School business administrators can obtain Qualified Purchasing Agent (QPA) credits. And facilities managers will have opportunities to earn Certified Educational Facilities Managers (CEFM) credits.

Registration opens on Aug. 3. To make training accessible to more members of your district, NJSBA is offering a special group rate of $900 for up to 25 team members, including school board members, superintendents, school business administrators, IT directors, facilities directors, principals, and other district staff. That’s only $36 per person! The individual member rate is $199 per person.

Add NJSBA’s Virtual Workshop 2020 to your next board meeting agenda.

The school business administrator must handle registration; a link to more information is available here. To add team members to your group registration, the school business administrator must first add the names of the team members, including other district staff, to your district’s census.

Please join your fellow education leaders across the state at Workshop 2020 as we work on solutions, and explore resources, best practices, and answers to your district’s toughest questions.
